Our library acts as a premier gateway to latest information, trends in the world and has emerged as an information hub of academic community and students. Spacious and comfortable, the library offers a congenial & dynamic environment for conducting academic work, study and research. It offers a fine collection of books, reference books and non-print / multimedia CDs, technical journals and magazines.
The college has a collection of over 30,100 books across all disciplines and subscribes to 142 national and international engineering and scientific journals. The library has been digitized to make it simpler and faster to locate books. There are more than 400 titles for issue and reference for each discipline of study and besides this a minimum of 8 national journals are being subscribed for each discipline. Besides books the library has a large number of SONET CDs for assisting students in self-learning. The College has also subscribed to e-journals through J-Gate, ELSEVIER, Springer, and ASTM Digital Library Online. Separate shelf space is allocated to different sections like text books, reference books, journals, general books, books for competitive examinations, etc., all of which are arranged in a neat and organized, subject-wise manner for easy access and quick retrieval. New stock before being sent to shelves are first displayed in the "new arrivals" section for 15-20 days and processed afterwards for usage by students and staff.
The students are encouraged to make use of the library by providing library periods in the time-table. Students are also encouraged to do library research for giving seminars and undertaking mini projects. Photocopies of extracts from books and journals are provided at nominal costs from the library.
The chief librarian and his dedicated staff of proven experience are available throughout to sort out queries and doubts regarding availability of books and journals. The library is emerging as a full-fledged knowledge center in engineering studies.
Our College website www.asti.edu.in is not just a display website, but an innovative and interactive website. Students and parents can log onto the website to access information about attendance and academic performance. Faculty members can not only upload attendance details and marks, and also upload study material for various subjects for the use of students. The website is also used to communicate notifications regarding placements, exams, events, office circulars, etc., so that students have the latest information. A messaging facility in the website also allows the College to send regular SMSes to students and parents. As and when required, more facilities and features would be added.
